We do know that the container is in South Africa and that the officials there are being very thorough in their clearance of the contents. Once they clear the container it will only be a few days until it arrives in Zambia. The Zambian customs department has already reviewed and approved the contents and there should be no problem once it enters the country. Please continue to pray for its arrival. The contents will benefit the children, hospital and church planters.
This past weeks have been very busy week me but I enjoyed them tremendously. A team of 20 high school students and 6 adult leaders from Memphis traveled to Zambia to teach discipleship at Choma Secondary School (CSS). CSS is a Pilgrim Wesleyan Church supported school. PWC partners with the Brethren in Christ Church to provide Christian education to those who can afford to send their children there. Total tuition cost is approximately $350 per year. I met the team at the airport in Livingstone on May 29. The team loaded onto a bus while the 54 pieces of luggage were thrown onto a two ton truck. The team stayed at a Catholic guesthouse in Choma with the kindness of Sister Lontia, Mother Superior. Some slept on the floor since there were only 5 beds available. I was fortunate enough to sleep on a bed. There is an advantage to being the oldest in a group!The team started bright and early Wednesday morning at the Choma Secondary School where they participated in the morning devotionals, observed selected classes, helped teach selected classes and interacted with the Zambian students during breaks. Each afternoon they taught discipleship classes to those student who wanted to be involved. After the discipleship program they played football (soccer), basketball, and other sports with the students. If that was not enough for one day, they returned to the school each evening to participate in a revival. It was a grueling schedule but I heard little complaining and everyone enjoyed themselves. I hope to see some of the team return next year.
The last day the team traveled to Livingstone (up at 4am!) and was able to take
in some sightseeing. The highlight of the game park was seeing two white rhinos (the only ones in Zambia). They were being guarded by two guards with guns. They escorted us into the bush to get a closer look. It was an awesome experience. Unfortunately, two days after our visit, a poacher killed the female for her horn. I have been told the horn brings $50,000. The poacher has not been caught at this writing.It was sad to say goodbye to this team. They were great fun and very encouraging to me. I was prepared to be melancholy after they left and I was. It’s the closest I have come to being homesick since arriving. Good thing God has made it very clear that this is where He wants me to be or I may have had to stow away!

I have to share this with you…. Sister Lontia wants me to become a nun!! I explained to her that there were some requirements that I didn’t meet but she stated that they would not be an issue. I am already called Sister Janet ……..
ZIMBA HOSPITAL LAB EXPANSION UPDATE!!!Thanks to everyone who contributed to the fund for the expansion of the laboratory at the hospital. The construction is coming right along and it should be completed very soon. God is good!
Please pray for the Zimba community and the Nakowa PWC. This is the church I have been attending. Saturday they voted their current pastor out of his position. As you know, this can quickly divide a church. Pray for his family and the plan God has for him. Pray for the church leaders as they select a new pastor. I am learning quickly that church politics is alive and well in Zambia!!
